Sourdough Banana Bread Muffin
I love banana bread and thought it would be a good idea to take my original sourdough bread recipe and make it into sourdough banana bread muffins. They turned out great and are a great size to take on the go. My husband likes to take them in the morning to work. These muffins are made with wholesome ingredients and can be customized to fit your dietary needs.
Ingredients for Sourdough Banana Bread Muffins
I use the freshest ingredients to make my sourdough banana bread muffins such as fresh organic bananas, brown sugar, flour, eggs and nuts.
Tips for making Sourdough Banana Bread Muffins
I use a stand mixer; however, you can certainly make these with a hand mixer as well. Start by beating your sugar and Crisco together. Beat for a couple of minutes until light and fluffy. Next add the egg, maple syrup and vanilla. Mix all the dry ingredients next in a separate bowl and add to the mixer a little at a time. Once mixed, add the mashed bananas and sourdough starter and mix until just incorporated. You do not want to over mix.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and you can either add to muffin cups or just spray a muffin tin. I bake mine about 14 to 15 minutes. Let cool completely before removing from the pan.
I hope you give these muffins a try they are so great to have around the house and the perfect size for a little snack. These muffins also freeze well.
